Chloe & Daniel’s Wellers Saline MI Wedding: A Gorgeous Fall Day at the Historic Carriage House

Wellers of Saline MI Wedding & Reception

Getting Ready at the Hospitality House

This was a gorgeous fall wedding in the West Garden at Wellers Saline MI. Chloe and her attendants got ready at the hospitality house in downtown Saline. It’s a beautiful old home owned by Wellers where clients can get ready before the service. They have two floors, upstairs and downstairs to accommodate two different groups. We were upstairs. Things were right on schedule and we got some really pretty pictures of the bride and her attendants before the service. We also spent a little time in the garden with the ladies.

Wedding Service in The West Garden

The groom was down at Weller’s getting things set up for the service. This is a historic wedding venue in Saline once owned by the Henry Ford Motor Company and restored by the current owners in the 1970’s. Everything was going exactly as planned! They were very organized and this showed. As a service approached Daniel got in position for our bride’s entrance. Everyone was in high spirits and emotions ran high! The service was conducted by a close friend that did a really nice job for them.

After the service, we captured family photos before letting guests head to cocktail hour. This gave the couple a rare, quiet moment alone on the grounds—often the only peaceful time they get all day. The rest of the day they are surrounded by friends and family but very little time to themselves. It was quite a beautiful part of the day for us to capture.

Dinner And Dancing at The Carriage House

The room was set and everyone was seated before the bride and groom made their grand entrance. The Carriage House is a beautiful old building with a tremendous amount of history. It is a gorgeous spot to photograph in!  Several toasts were offered by close relatives and friends. We timed out our sunset pictures to line up with that beautiful glow in the sky you get at sunset. Too bad there weren’t more clouds for the sun to bounce off of but there was a gorgeous glow as the sun was setting in the West.

After dinner was served the guests were invited to come outside under the Grand Pavilion for their first dance. Our job is to stay out of the way and capture beautiful images without intervening in this most important part of the evening. Candid photos are key and good lighting is even more important. You can see the beautiful glow on the bride and groom by using proper lighting and not flooding the area with light. They stand off from the background and this is a very beautiful and deliberate lighting technique we use.

The party raged on and we photographed some gorgeous night shots as the family and friends danced the night away. We’ve selected a few key photos from the day to present in this collection and hope you enjoy them. If you would like to talk with us about your wedding plans at Weller’s, we’re happy to assist.
