Jeff & Sheryl’s Wedding at Dodge #4 State Park & Canterbury Reception in Lake Orion MI – Day 2

We are excited to present some images from Jeff & Sheryl’s Canterbury Reception at Canterbury Village.

Wedding was a few weeks earlier in Waterford

Jeff and Cheryl’s wedding and reception were held over the course of 2 days.  The wedding itself was held at Dodge #4 State Park in Waterford MI. The reception was held at Canterbury Castle in Lake Orion. This post features mostly their reception however, we went back and pulled a few of the key wedding day images to get a few wedding images in. You can find the full wedding day post at this link.  Cheryl & Jeff’s wedding day.

The service was held at a pavilion at Dodge #4 State Park in Waterford on a beautiful summer afternoon. The reception was about a month and a half later. We selected a few images to show the gorgeous wedding day and sunset that everyone got to share that day. There were about 20 guests in attendance for the service. The reception a few weeks later was opened up for about 150 guests.  We won’t spend a lot of time on the service here but mainly focus on the reception.

Around the grounds of Canterbury Castle.

We met up at Canterbury Castle in Lake Orion about an hour before the doors opened for cocktails. This gave us a chance to spend a little time around the grounds with the couple before they met up with their guests for drinks and festivities. Everyone was in incredibly high spirits ready to celebrate for them.  We got some absolutely beautiful pictures as the sun was going down around the village. I absolutely love this place. It’s one of my favorites because there’s so many pretty places to work and you never have to leave the property. Many couples get married here as well. They have a beautiful chapel which you can see in other blogs here

The Party & Canterbury Reception in the grand ballroom.

At the reception the couple was introduced into the room to a thunderous applause. They sat down and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and heard to some well thought out toasts made by family members. The blending of two families is always a fun time. Especially when everyone gets along which was the case here. It’s fun to see!

After dinner the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance. This room is so beautiful! You should consider it for your next event. If you’re thinking about getting married, reach out to the staff at Canterbury and I’m sure they’re going to take wonderful care of you. We’ve known them for many years and they have always hosted great events.  Later into the evening the couple wanted to get some night shots. I think we are known for our night shots. From what I hear, this night was no exception for capturing some beautiful moments!

We hope you enjoy this wedding and we wish the couple the very best life has to offer. If you are interested in having us photograph your wedding, please reach out to the office at 734-453-4321. Our staff will take good care of you and help you plan and capture beautiful images at your wedding!
