Coffee Table Wedding Album Design
Wedding service in the thumb of Michigan at the family farm.
This is our album design for Jake and Katie from their family farm wedding. We were up in the thumb of Michigan out in some beautiful farm country. This old farm house and barn has been in the family for several generations. They wanted to host their wedding here for obvious reasons, family tradition and heritage.
As we were driving into the area and began to see all of the wind energy towers it dawned on me that this could be a pretty windy day. We weren’t disappointed. I remember as we pulled into the driveway well ahead of schedule, the first thing I saw was people chasing the food tent across a corn field. A wind gust had taken it out of their hands as they were trying to put it up and it all went flying. I grabbed a camera and shot a couple of pictures as I chuckled. All in all, it went pretty well in spite of the prevailing winds.
The Family Farm Wedding Service Held Next To The Barn.
The couple arrived and got ready for their service. Their first touch was through an open window on the side of the house. He promised not to look! When everyone was set, the service commenced. It was a beautiful ceremony officiated by one of their uncles. Everyone enjoyed it!
After the service we took a few family shots before heading in for cocktails. Dinner was served at the family farm, toasts or offered, the cake was cut and they took to the dance floor. It was really a beautiful evening. As the sun was going down we got out for some gorgeous sunset shots.
We hope you enjoy this wedding album layout. It is compiled from the favorites list that the bride and groom picked. We took hundreds and hundreds of more pictures than this but of course they had to narrow down to make this concise and beautiful collection.
No doubt you’d like to see their original wedding blog post. You can see Katie and Jake’s original wedding blog post at this link.

We would like to say a bit about our wedding design process. After a wedding is photographed we post the proofs to our web for client review. They then will have the opportunity to narrow down the photos from the wedding. As for this beautiful farm wedding we see that they picked some very nice images from the point of getting ready as well as the service. What we don’t see are many detail photos we took for the event. Those images are in the proofs but did not make the final album design. This is really not a big deal because the album is designed to highlight the main images that the client wants in their book. We have all see the wedding albums of our friends where they dump all kinds of redundant and lesser images into the book. They are like an unedited video reel where the camera never shuts down and who wants to watch every reader in a mass walk up and back from the lectern? Edit that stuff out!
We treat the wedding album designs the say way. Focus on the highlights and the best of a series and put those images in the album design. In the case of this family farm wedding we took lots other shots of guests and details that are interesting but not necessary to tell the main story.
