Christina & Jeffrey’s Fall Engagement Photos at Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area Waterford MI on a Gorgeous Fall Day in MI

We met up with Christina and Jeffrey on a crisp autumn day for their engagement session in Waterford. Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area is such a gem on the north side of Metro Detroit; it offers a stunning mix of scenic waterfronts, wooded trails, and rolling hills. It even has horse stables and riding paths, which gives it a rustic, unique character that we absolutely love to photograph.

We began the session tucked away on some golden, wooded trails near the lake. Their little dog joined the fun and seemed to love the crisp air just as much as we did! As we explored the park, we got to know the couple better and talked all about their upcoming spring wedding.

We always tell our couples that engagement sessions are the perfect “dry run.” It’s a low-pressure way for us to learn your favorite angles and for you to get comfortable in front of the lens. By the time the wedding day arrives—with its fast-paced schedule and “no time to spare” energy—we already have a shorthand with each other. It gives everyone a huge leg up!

In just about an hour, we captured so many beautiful moments. We’ve selected a few of our favorite highlights below to show the flow of the day. Christina and Jeffrey were amazing to work with, and we’re already counting down the days until their wedding.
