Kim & Steve’s wedding at Strawberry Lake Lodge Pinckney MI, A Wonderful Wedding On The Lake

Kim and Steve were married at Strawberry Lake Lodge Pinckney Michigan. It was a gorgeous day for a beautiful outdoor wedding. The stage was set and everyone was in high spirits for their wedding! 

Strawberry Lake Lodge was formerly a bed and breakfast and this location has hosted weddings for many years. It’s an absolutely gorgeous setting for an outdoor wedding overlooking Strawberry Lake.  As the couple and their friends put the finishing touches on getting ready, the guests were being seated outside for the service.  Kim emerged down the pathway as her groom watched with emotional excitement.

The service was conducted by a family friend and did a fabulous job. The service took about 15 minutes with some very touching moments remembering how the couple met and started their journey together in life. It was very memorable for us to watch and learn more about how their love and friendship was formed. 

After the service we took about 15 minutes with them to cover some family photos. The sun was coming through the trees and created a very challenging lighting situation on their faces and clothing. Speckled sunlight is very tricky because you get shadows and bright spots in a variable pattern that can be very challenging to photograph if not handled well.  As you can see, the final result was quite satisfactory. 

Well the guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, we spent some time around the property getting some beautiful pictures of the couple together. Though we were not invited to cover the reception past the cake cutting we did take a few nice detail pictures of the room for them.
