Getting Ready…
We had an absolute blast with Maria and Dominique! They had their wedding at Greater Life Apostolic Detroit. The reception was held at the Bentley Banquet and Conference Center in Wyandotte Michigan. We started out at the hotel with Dominique and her ladies. What a great crew! We spent a little bit of time for makeup and hair shots. It was an enormous suit and lots of room for the ladies. I think we counted 15 bridesmaids! Everyone then jumped in cars and headed for the Bentley in Wyandotte for the final getting ready.
The Bentley has a beautiful dressing room for the ladies to get ready. Though the couple did not see one another beforehand, the guys were there as well and we did a few individual shots. The waterfall in back of the Bentley makes a great terracing effect for photos.
At the church…
Dominique’s father is the pastor at Greater Life Apostolic Church in Detroit. The crowd at the church were some of their closest friends and family in support of the couple’s wedding. There was such a palpable feeling in the air with everyone being so close to the pastor and loving his family. Dominique was embraced with loving arms. We photographed the event from different angles and having two photographers meant this worked beautifully!
A horse and carriage awaited the couple outside of the church when they emerged to great fanfare. Punch and hors d’oeuvres we’re on hand in the Social Hall for the guests to enjoy. The newly weds made the rounds and greeted their well wishers.
The party…
Everyone hopped in their cars and we all took off for the Bentley Banquet and Conference Center in Wyandotte. During the introductions, Dominique put on quite a show with his dancing prowess. The cake cutting soon followed. After a scrumptious dinner the couple took to the dance floor to celebrate their new family ties. We got some really pretty shots and angles of the events. There were some very special times during the party that we captured on camera that are fun to look back on. Later in the evening even though it was hot, the couple went outside for some gorgeous night pictures. We loved this wedding and loved being around their families.
The album…
The wedding album comes next. It is the job of the couple to narrow down their favorites of what they want to go into their wedding album. The wedding albums are in three different styles and here’s a link for you to look at those. They are subtly similar but upon closer examination, you will see that they are quite different. It is up to the couple and their taste in design to let us know what they’re most drawn to.
After they have chosen their favorite images then it’s our job to create a really neat layout of their favorites. It’s important to remember that there are hundreds upon hundreds of images to pour through and you have all of the high-res files as part of our packages. When you pick a package with an album, you must narrow them down to your favorites. Because there are similar shots in the collection, there’s really no point in putting everything in the book so you pick the best of the best.
