A stunning wedding on the patio at The Whitney…
We started our work at the Whitney with Andrea and Jonathan getting ready. They were going to have their first reveal on the grand staircase before we went out around town for some photos of the two of them. The goal was to get some really neat shots of them before they got wrapped up in their wedding and reception at the Whitney.
We spent some time near the DIA and the Detroit Library. It’s a great chance to break away before the service and both are very close to the Whitney. I think we spent about an hour or so and selected some of our favorites from the adventure.
Back for the outdoor service…
Once we arrived back at the Whitney the couple disappeared while the guests were being seated on the outdoor patio. This is an absolutely gorgeous space to work in. It’s a perfect spot for a garden wedding in downtown Detroit. The food is amazing and to have such a lovely garden available to couples to share their vows means you don’t have to go to multiple places to get great service and a gorgeous environment!
The service was performed by Denise Tucker from Perfect Day Celebrations. She’s one of the best in the business and always does a fabulous job with her wedding services. We love working with her!
After the service the families stayed back while we took a few photos of some groups and the rest of the friends went inside for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Their grand entrance was very elegant as they came down the stairs to greet their guests and enjoy their first dance. Dinner and dancing was the order of the night. It is one of the most beautiful historic homes in the city and to have a wedding here is breathtaking.
