Allison & Richard had a beautiful wedding. Linda Smith from Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian in Detroit, referred them to us some time back and we are grateful and love working with her at the church! The church was formally organized with 46 members in 1854. The windows in the church are striking. After the ceremony the couple went to Greenfield Village for some great fun and then over to Lovett Hall for their reception. Everyone had a fantastic time. Patrick, once again, you surpassed expectations on this wedding. The photos are beautiful, capturing Allison and Richards’s individuality to a tee.

Lauren & Josh’s wedding photographs at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit & reception at the Detroit Yacht Club in Detroit on Belle Isle

The Blessed Sacrament Cathedral is one of the most special places in Detroit to get married. It is the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. There is a great history to this church and having a wedding here is super special. Lauren & Josh were dynamite to work for, they were lots of fun and energetic. We moved on downtown for some shots and then out on to Belle Isle for some fun.

The evening brought a wonderful party at the Detroit Yacht Club. It is one of the most spectacular settings on the river with a great history. Guests strolled along the long porch and watch the sunset during cocktails then went in for dinner. After the first dance for the couple the party was in full swing. We are pretty sure Josh was a pirate in a former life!

Patrick recalls this to be one of the nicest wedding and most fun couple he ever had the honor of photographing for.

Kelly & Seth’s wedding was so much fun! The list of wonderful things that day were numerous, A stunning church – The Historic, German Gothic St. Joseph in Detroit, The beautiful Detroit Yacht Club, Kelly’s gorgeous wedding gown, the very pretty cake, the music, and don’t forget the “blue tongue”!

Kelly and Seth are both trained actors and had no trouble in front of the camera. We wish all the best, it was a fantastic day! Thank you for the opportunity to be part of it. Break a leg!

Katie and Frank were fortunate enough to have two beautiful locations for their wedding day. Father Charles Coughlin founded the Shrine of the Little Flower Parish in 1925, just prior to the canonization of St. Therese of Lisieux. St. Therese was known as “The Little Flower”. It is one of the first churches in the world dedicated in her honor. The Shrine was designated a National Shrine in 1998. The Historic Detroit Yacht Club, founded in 1868, is one of the oldest and most prestigious private clubs in North America. What a privilege to celebrate your wedding at these two locations.

Katie never, stopped smiling! Carrie captured Katie and Frank’s personalities step by step as the day progressed. Lots of fun, lots of smiles and lots of wonderful memories, it was a great wedding.

Catherine & Michael’s wedding ceremony was set at one of the most interesting and unique sites we have photographed. The William Livingstone Memorial Lighthouse is located at the eastern tip of Belle Isle Island and is a wonder location for a wedding. Melissa did a beautiful job capturing the emotions and scenes of the day. Some wonderful highlights caught on camera are, the breathtaking blue sky, the smiles during the ceremony, the ride in the rickshaw, Catherine’s stunning wedding dress, and the backdrop of the city of Detroit as seen from the fantastic Detroit Yacht Club!

The Detroit Yacht club is right around the corner from the Lighthouse and provides for one of the most elegant and romantic evenings imaginable. The club’s beautiful high ceiling banquet room is a one of a kind in Detroit and has hosted some of the best weddings in the city for many years.

Karen & Luke had a beautiful wedding. This wedding tells a great story! It feels like I was there, just by looking through the photographs. Patrick & Lisa shot this wedding together. I love the reflection of Luke in the car! And Amanda – what a doll! Her personality jumps out and onto the page! Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel carries so much history, and almost takes you back in time. Traveling the short distance to the Roostertail in that fun car made for some great shots too! The dance – the cake – the toast – the fun! What a fabulous day!

I love, love, love, the photo of them on the water. It should be on their wall! What a handsome couple. In the evening, it looks like everyone had fun on The Roostertail’s outdoor deck. There is nothing like a wedding reception on the water overlooking the city of Detroit!

OMG! What an amazing wedding! Amy & Jeff met up at the Dearborn Inn for their ‘first look’ well before the service started at Sweetest Heart of Mary. They wanted to get some photos in & around Detroit before the wedding. Smart move – because this would allow the guests to enjoy cocktail hour and not have to wait a long time for Amy & Jeffrey to arrive at the reception. Downtown Detroit provides wonderfully diverse backdrops for wedding photos, we know great spots all over town that will achieve pretty much any look a couple is after. From the grunge urban look of the back allies to polished white marble buildings, we can get the look a client has envisioned for their day.

Sweetest Heart of Mary in Detroit is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful churches in the city! They are very good to work with and the couples we talk to love the church & easygoing staff. After the mass we took off for a Model T Ride and some photos around Greenfield Village. Wedding photos around the village take on a look of their own, it is such a historic space to work in and the feeling one gets working there is fantastic. As a photographer, there is an interesting link between us capturing history with our cameras and the history that is captured in the village itself.

Angela & Dave’s wedding album design Colony Club Detroit

This was one of my favorite weddings from last summer, Angela & Dave were so good to work with. From the moment I met Angela I was convinced this was going to be my kind of photo shoot. Little did I know that we would end of in Venice Italy to shoot their engagement photos!

The wedding was at St. Peter & Paul Jesuit Church in Detroit, then we went downtown Detroit for some shots around town. We then walked through the streets to join up with family and friends at the one and only, Colony Club of Detroit. The Colony Club which was established in 1928, is located directly behind the Fox Theater. As you look through their album, notice The Grand Ballroom, it will take your breath away; it is almost like being set in the movie “Somewhere in Time.” Angela and Dave, what an adorable couple! We wish you the best in life! We welcome feedback on our posts.

A little background here… Candice Davis is a professional track star, and Brian Price plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When we walked in on the scene, the women were well underway, the men were sacked out! We laughed at the contrast. The day was gaining momentum and most of the ladies were ready when Candice looked at me and said “Patrick, take this shot…” then turned to one of here bride’s maids. “Carmelita! Come here, I want a shot with you.” They looked at the camera and Candice with a big smile looked at me, pointed at her friend and said, “This is the fastest woman in the world! I mean it, she is the fastest woman in the world! This is Carmelita Jeter.” The place was full of world-class talent.

The wedding went off without a hitch while Sarah went over to photograph the Westin Book Cadillac’s beautiful reception room and the details. Emerald City Design did a fantastic job on the room. We danced and played until everyone was tired and went home or in a lot of cases, jumped on planes and headed for their next workout.

Allison & Mark’s wedding photos at The Detroit Yacht Club

A night to remember it was. We started out the day getting ready at the Yacht Club and had the first look photos out on the back porch overlooking the Detroit River and skyline. They then jumped on the limo bus to head off for some photos at the Heidelberg Project then to some blown out buildings around town. Later, back at the club, we rejoined the family for a wedding on the south lawn. The rain held up, but the sky was looking pretty ominous at times.

If you have attended a wedding at the Detroit Yacht Club you know just how romantic a walk along the long covered porch at night can be. Later that night while we were shooting out on the dock we happened to catch some fireworks!

Jeanie & Brandon’s Wedding Album Design

Jeanine & Brandon came to us about a year before their wedding. They were so into photography and art, they wanted to make sure they hired the “right” kind of artist they both were looking for. We knew right off the bat, this was going to be a great experience being able to work with them. The ceremony took place at the one and only Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester. As you can see, we had an amazing backdrop for those “getting ready” shots for both Jeanine and Brandon. It turned out to be a beautiful day weather wise for the outdoor ceremony, then we were off to shoot at some great locations downtown Detroit. The reception was held at Stone Creek Banquet Hall in Flat Rock. The dance floor was full all evening! We also got some great night shots. Jeanine and Brandon, it was a true honor working for you.
